If you could have any ceremony you want, what would it be like? What music would you have? What readings? What elements relating to the uniqueness of your relationship would it have? Where would it be?
With TV shows such as, “Don’t Tell The Bride”, more and more people are realising that their wedding doesn’t have to be prescribed by others or “conventional”. Whether it’s your first time, “down the aisle”, a mixed or same-sex Civil Partnersip, converting your Civil Partnership into a marriage or an opportunity to do it your way this time around, it’s all about you, your likes, interests and relationship.
Creating your Ceremony
My mission is to make sure couples know all their options. Because once you know your options, you can feel confident that the things that you choose, are truly the right things for you.
If you want to add a song or piece of music you love, or a piece of religious or spiritual text, favourite poetry or even a ritual which speaks of your family tradition, even if it’s a tradition you no longer practice, or completely secular non-religious content, we can find a way to weave this into the ceremony.
Maybe you’ve always wanted to recite some special vows or exchange them in a unique way. Or have a ring or gift exchange which reflects the uniqueness of the two of you. Really the ceremony content can be as non-traditional or traditional as you want it to be.
And as for location, you’re free to choose, even if it’s not licenced for marriages or Civil Partnerships. Is there a venue or place, inside or outside, here or abroad which holds special meaning for you both? Somewhere which has great significance or sentimental value?
I feel passionate about people having the option to have a ceremony which is authentic to themselves. And invite us to work together so we can co-create a unique and bespoke ceremony which the both of you and your guests will remember for a life time.
In my experience, having a ceremony with a Celebrant, is more than just an after event…..for the couple and their guests, it is the wedding!
Please contact me to share your ideas and find out more about how we might work together. Or if you’re interested in other Relationship Ceremonies such as Vow Renewals or marking converting your Civil Partnership to a Marriage, I’d love to hear from you.
I always feel so deeply honoured to be a part of such a special event in a couple’s lives, and I’d feel honoured to be a part of yours too.
With love,
Jeannene
