Parent Pledge (Script 1)
“(parent/s name), I now ask you to make a vow, that you pledge to keep for the rest of your days, by answering “I/We do” to this question.”
“Do you vow to love and nurture, support and encourage, protect and guide (baby/child’s name), into achieving all the things you wish for (her/him) and more, as she/he grows into adulthood and beyond?

God/Guide/Support Parent Introduction (Script 2)
“Please can (God/Guide/Support parents name/s) come forward now.”
“(Parent/s name/s) have invited you to take a special interest in (baby/Child’s name)’s life and be her/his Guide/God/Support parents. In doing so you commit to help guide (baby/Child’s name) through her/his life, provide open arms to embrace her/him in difficult times, and add to the love and care that his/her parent/s bring/s.”
God/Guide/Support Parent/Guardian Pledge (Script 2)
“(God/Guide/Support parents/guardians name/s), please now make your promises as God/Guide/Support parents by repeating these words after me”
“As a God/Guide/Support parent/guardian to (baby/Child’s name), I endeavour,

“We know that children thrive from words of encouragement and knowing that those around them wish the best for them. However, words alone can be fleeting and easy to forget. So you’re all invited to capture your heartfelt wishes, greatest hopes or loving advice for (baby/child’s name) on your cards. After today your cards will be placed somewhere special, so that in the many years to come (baby/child’s name) can refer to your words, gaining strength, guidance and love as she/he travels along his/her path through life.”
“Please write on your cards now.” (Background music can be played at this point)
“Thank you for participating and at the end of the ceremony please place your cards in the special box which (Baby/child’s name)’s parent/s will take home with them.”
